Directions to Pattaya Drivers License Office: It is located off Hwy 36 to Rayong. On Sukhumvit Road go 5Km north of Pattaya Nua Rd to the Hwy 36 Exit to Rayong (exit on the “right”). On Hwy 36 go 5 Km and you will see a large green overhead sign saying “Hwy 7 to Chonburi and Bangkok turn left; Hwy 36 to Rayong straight ahead.” A short way after you pass under the sign there is a 2’ high by 5’ wide arrow-shaped white sign with black Thai writing pointing to the right. You will also see a dirt road area through the ditch of the median where vehicles have been crossing to the other side to get to the driver’s license office. You may wish to go down further and u-turn back as a makeshift crossing is dangerous. Once you cross the highway exit you will be on the paved road that leads to the office. Approximately 150 meters back toward office the road will make a left turn. After the turn you will see an area that serves food,
makes photocopies, laminates drivers licenses and offers insurance (on your left). On your right is a two story buildingwhere you will apply for your license. Enter the second gate into the parking lot and park. Go upstairs to the second floor.

TIP: If you are a member of the Pattaya City Expats Club, a club member will drive you to the licensing office at no charge.

Five Year License: You must have a one year Thai Drivers license in effect for one year before the 5 year license can be granted. Your one year license must have expired to apply for a 5 year license.
