There are almost as many different styles of nightlife in Pattaya as there is food. Some establishments cater purely to locals.These are the karaoke bars and nightclubs.Foreigners (farangs) tend to frequent primarily  the beer pubs and Go-Go bars. Beer bars are generally little more then a booth or kiosk. They are generally outdoors, no air conditioning. Drink prices tend to be lower  than in an A/C indoor bars. Most will have hostesses who will sit, drink and be your sex toy. Many bars have a mix of bikinis, topless and nude dancers. Gay bars openly advertise on the street and in newspapers. Certain sections of each entertainment area will have ‘‘boyz town.’’ There are ‘‘short time’’bars due to the room for rent on an hourly basis. There are clubs that cater to Korean and Japanese clientele. Westerners are not welcome.You wouldn’t want to pay the prices that they pay anyway. A less likely place for farangs to frequent are the various massage parlors. These come in two flavors: a traditional thai massage, some times called physical massage. The other is body massage.Traditonal massage is semi-professional, semi- therapeutic and can involve the whole body or just the feet. ‘‘The other’’  massage involves ‘extras’. Both types are usually paid for by the hour. Men and women are welcome in a traditional thai massage establishment.
