Mobile Phones

They are indispensable. You can buy new or used. Prices range from 500 to 50,000 baht. An outlet called TUKCOM has the largest selection. It is on Pattaya Thai, near Day & Night Hotel.

TIP 1:  If you lose your phone and want to use the same number, go to the 2nd floor of TUKCOM. Ask for the store called TELEWIZ. This service is free. They can reset your old phone number on a sim card. Of course, you will need to buy a new sim card. You will have to answer some questions, for example: “When was the last time you filled up your sim card, how much money did you put into your sim card, do you have I.D.?”

TIP 2:  People calling from the USA to your Thai number must use the following sequence of phones numbers. EXAMPLE: Your number is 087 555 5555. The following call is made: 001= Intl access code ;66=country code; 38=city code.

Regular Phones

Some homes have a regular phone system. If your phone number starts with:
0382 & 0384  you have a TOT line.
0383 & 0387  you have a TT&T line
