INTRODUCTION
 

This FAQ is primarily of interest to Veterans and military retirees, and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars

 

Facilities: JUSMAG  - The closest thing to “federal” is the Joint US Military Assistance Group (JUSMAG). Within their compound on Sathorn Rd Bangkok is a Retiree Activities Office (often call RAO or Retiree Affairs Office). As a resident of Pattaya/Chonburi,your primary source of assistance is VFW Post 9876 in Pattaya. Each VFW Post in Thailand has an appointed Service Officer who can assist you on many matters from VA to SSA. Military retirees and veterans with 100%-permanent disability can get an APO mail box at the JUSMAG compound.(See FAQ – JUSMAG)

 

Facilities: PX - There are NO PX facilities in Thailand.

 

Facilities: Social Security - There are NO Social Security facilities in Thailand. The American Citizens Services at the U.S. Embassy office provides limited info and assistance. They can be reached at 02-205-4049 or by e-mail: acsbkk@state.gov 

 

Facilities: U.S. Embassy: Passport renewals replacement and additional visa pages, can be done at the US Embassy American Citizen’s Services (ACS) Office in the OLD Embassy compound on the East side of Wireless road. See FAQ - US Embassy

 

Facilities: Veterans’ Administration- There are NO Veterans Administration facilities in Thailand. A Veterans Administration facility is located in the Philippines, however, it is only for use by active duty military personnel or veterans who legally reside in the Philippines. Paperwork from veterans legally residing in Thailand are sent to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
