Memorial Day – May 31, 2010
Our Post had a terrific turn out of VFW members, family and friends. We started out at St. Nicholas Church for a prayer ceremony. We then moved to VFW Post headquarters where we enjoyed a delicious buffet. This was not only an opportunity to remember those who died for our nation but also to renew acquaintances among the friends and families that make up our wonderful Post.

VFW Post 9876 celebrates Christmas - December 23, 2009
The Pattaya division of the USA based Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) had a very pleasant Christmas dinner function at the “Hogsbreath Bar” in Soi Batman (South Pattaya), which was rather different from past years. The former Commander of their Post No.9876, Mr. Fred Estes, recently passed away, but in his will he bequeathed part of his estate to Pattaya’s VFW Post, which funded this year’s Christmas dinner for all members.

Veterans Day Celebration - November 11, 2009

November 11 was a great Veteran’s Day celebration.

Special appreciation for those who were able to bring a pot luck item. Eric Larsen did a terrific job cooking that tasty roast ham and meat loaf.

The cake, as you can see in the photos, was beautiful. It was a truly special day for the nearly 100 veterans, their families and friends.

POW / MIA Ceremony - September 18, 2009
Nearly 30 VFW members and their families are shown attending an event marking Prisoner of War/Missing In Action Day at VFW Post Headquarters ( Hog’s Breath Saloon). It is important that we not forget our military who have been taken prisoner or are missing-in-action. Jeff McLaury gave an overview of the origins of the POW/MIA flag. Commander Serrato conducted the “Table Ceremony” ritual which was described by many as memorable. The event was capped off with 6 pizzas, spaghetti and salad – all kindly donated to the Post.
